According to the announcement on the morning of June 20 by the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, Binh achieved 8 points in Literature; 9.75 English, 10 Maths and 9.5 points in subject area.
With the formula for calculating the entrance exam score which is the sum of the scores of three general exams and the scores of the specialized subjects multiplied by a factor of two, up to a maximum of 50, Binh got 46.75 points.
The second place contestant was Nguyen Bao Han and Huynh Quang Phu, with 46/50 points together. Both of them got 10 points in foreign languages, and 9-9.5 in specialized subjects. The remaining positions in the top 5 candidates with the highest 10th grade entrance exam scores belonged to Pham Minh Uyen - 45.74 points, Duong Phu Quang and Nguyen Thanh Phong with 45.25 points.
Last year, the valedictorian of the specialized system in Ho Chi Minh City was Duong Kien Khai. I enrolled in the specialized class in Information, Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted, with three points of 10 in Mathematics, English and Computer Science, and 8.75 in Literature. Khai's total score for admission is 48.75.
In the mass system, the valedictorian of class 10 in Ho Chi Minh City this year is Vu Ngoc Bich with a total score of 29.25/30 for the three subjects of Math, Literature and English. In which, Bich achieved 9.25 points in Literature; 10 points Math and English.

After the test scores are announced, candidates who want to be re-examined can apply at the junior high school - where they study grade 9, from June 21 to 24. The results of the review were announced on June 30.
On July 4, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City will announce the standard scores for the 10th grade specialized and integrated and the list of candidates who are directly recruited. Standard grade 10 (general) and the list of successful candidates will be announced on July 10.
This year, out of nearly 96,000 candidates, about 77,300 will be admitted (80%). Many teachers believe that the standard score of 10th grade in Ho Chi Minh City this year may be over 25 points with the top schools, 16-22 points with the top middle schools and over 11 points with schools in the suburbs. This is an increase of 0.5-1 point compared to last year.
